A workshop or course can be a great place to try something new, learn more complex skills, get inspired, and meet other crafty friends. If you want to try a craft which requires lots of specialist equipment, like pottery, woodwork or metalwork, a workshop, class or course is your only real option. Keep an eye out for workshops near you at:
- craft or sewing shops, eg the Ministry of Craft in Manchester, The Makery in Bath, Abakhan in North Wales/Liverpool, The Beaderie in Cambridge
- arts centres, eg Millennium Court Arts Centre in Portadown, mac birmingham in Birmingham, or Dundee Contemporary Arts
- studios of local craftspeople or entrepreneurs, eg Made to Sew in Somerset or Stitch Club in London, 318 Ceramics in Farnham
- museums and galleries, eg the Geffrye Museum in London or the Laing Art Gallery in Newcastle.
