Preparing for work or apprenticeships

There is such a range of things that you can do if you don’t go to university, but the following tips should help you in whatever you decide to do:

Find out as much as you can

For jobs and careers in general – the National Careers Service has some very useful advice and information

For apprenticeships – look at the UCAS page and the Government apprenticeship pages to see what’s available and what’s involved

Some jobs and apprenticeships are very competitive; see specifically what they’re looking for and do your best to meet their needs.

Talk to your school or college, friends or family, people you know, local employers
