Travelling abroad requires more organisation than travel in the UK. As well as making sure that you plan your transport and accommodation carefully, you need to make sure that you have:
- a valid passport. Find out how to get a UK passport here
- in some cases, a visa – check the entry requirements for the country you’re visiting on this list from the UK Foreign Office here (this site also gives very useful and up-to-date advice on other travel issues for particular countries, including any risks)
- in some cases, up-to-date vaccinations – check the individual country advice on fitfortravel or TravelHealthPro
- enough money in the currency of your destination. This page explains the best ways of getting foreign currency
